Christmas came early with some big gifts!

Christmas came early this year for a couple of local nursing homes with big gift deliveries: on October 16th, Opal's delivered a jukebox to Crestview Care and Rehab, and a popcorn machine to Jefferson Place. The even better news? Opal's is about to swing into full Christmas mode soon, and will be delivering bags of gifts to residents at a number of local homes in the next couple months.

Elvis is in the Building!

THANK YOU SO MUCH to Opal’s Dream Foundation sponsoring our ELVIS Entertainer today! (Otis Berry).  Once again, he was wonderful and our residents LOVED IT!

Celebration of Life

Today at Regis Woods, I officiated over a memorial service for Bonnie, a much loved Regis Woods resident who died very unexpectedly. While I opened and closed the service with prayer, and gave a sermon based on John chapter ten, residents eulogized Bonnie with their personal remembrances. We then proceeded to the courtyard to do a balloon release in acknowledgement of Bonnie being released from this earthly realm. This final acknowledgement of the value of every human life is so important. Opal's Dream Foundation and I are privileged to participate in this celebration of a life well lived.

The Music Man Strikes Again!

Opal's Dream Foundation presented a jukebox to the residents of Louisville East on Browns Lane on Monday, June 12th. Several of the residents were seen twisting and turning to the music. Music brings such joy and comfort to the lives of the elderly, especially those with physical and mental impairments. Music calms the brain and allows the person to focus on the present. This stimulation can actually help improve the quality of life for many residents.

It's time for the 3rd Annual Opal's Golf Scramble, Friday June 16th!

For the third straight year, Opal's Dream Foundation is hosting a Golf Scramble, and prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 7th, 11th, and last places teams (Lewis Class Scoring). We'll also have a longest drive, putting, and closest-to-hole contest - plus door prizes! You'll find the entry form below, but you can just use this button to contact us about reserving a spot!
